ALCOHOL KILLING YOUNG PEOPLE

     ALCOHOL
       KILLING YOUNG PEOPLE

The young people dying from liver diseases caused by drinking were at levels “just not seen 30 years ago”, More and more Britons in their 20s are dying because of liver diseases caused by excessive consumption of alcohol, a top doctor has said. Ian Gilmore, a world renowned liver specialist and former president of the Royal College of Physicians, said cases of young people dying from liver diseases caused by drinking were at levels “just not seen 30 years ago”, The Sun reported. He blamed the situation on cheap alcohol that costs as little as two pounds for three litres.
Gilmore said young people were no longer contended to drinking during weekends. They were hitting the bottle all week, he said.Official figures say 7,000 patients aged 20—39 were last year admitted to hospital with alcohol—related liver diseases.
