Thieves struck once again on the Vijayawada-Hyderabad railway line and escaped with Rs 1.5 lakh worth property from passengers travelling in Godavari Express on Friday29th July, 2011..
Six passengers who travelled in Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad, Godavari Express, lodged a complaint with Secunderabad railway police stating that thieves stole gold and other valuables from them in the early hours. Six tolas of gold, Rs 25,000 cash, six mobils and debit cards were stolen. "The passengers travelling in A1, B1 and B2 coaches noticed the theft after the train crossed Khammam station," Secunderabad GRP S.I Arulappa said
