Padmanabhaswamy temple: Police demand 3-tier security
ADGP K Venugopal Nair has recommended a three-tier security system at the Padmanabhswamy temple where treasure worth crores were discovered. The report also wanted the area to be declared a highly-secured region. The report also recommended raising the number of commandos, cameras and sensors. The commercial shops near the temple complex, which are seen to be posing a threat, would be evacuated. Police also collected details of those residing half a km from the temple. Details on nearby houses and shops are collected and the owners have been asked to inform about any guests arriving to their houses. For strengthening the security and to avert any possible threat, buildings in the four entrances to the temple would be evacuated. Majority of the buildings have shops and some of the houses too need to be evacuated. As many of the buildings were given to private parties through the royal family, evacuation of the buildings could be done only with the royal family's consent. The police would transfer information on buildings to be evacuated to the royal family.
