Rs 525 cr turnover from Kerala

Samsung India Wednesday said it was eyeing an overall sales turnover of Rs 525 crore from Kerala this year, which includes Rs 250 crore during the festival season. Rajkumar Rishi, Vice-President, Samsung Audio Video Business, said for the festival season from July-September, the company was targetting Rs 250 crore from Kerala, a 25 per cent growth over last year.Mahesh Krishnan, Vice-President, Home Appliances, said they were looking at sales of 30,000 units of Flat TV during the three month period. The business from Kerala last year was Rs 420 crore. Last year's turnover of Samsung India was $3.5 billion, of which 4 per cent was from the state, Rishi said.

Rishi, who was here to launch consumer promotion offer, 'Baghya Chuvadu', for the coming Onam festival, said Samsung would offer consumers during the promotion period assured gifts as well as a chance to win exciting bumper prizes comprising of Samsung products ranging from top of the line Flat Panel TVs to Home Appliance products.The offer is valid from July 20 to September 15 across all Samsung authorised outlets in Kerala, he said, adding that gifts worth Rs 17 crore are being given away by the company during the promotion period.
