Rotary is a world wide organization of more than 1.2 million business, professional, and community leaders. Members of Rotary clubs, known as Rotarian's, provide humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and help build good will and peace in the world.
There are 33,000 Rotary clubs in more than 200 countries and geographical areas. Clubs are non political, non religious and open to all cultures races and creeds. As signified by the motto service above self, Rotaryis main objective is service in the workplace, and through out the world.
Rotary International will reach the pinnacle of glory and will continue to be the most respected and trusted NGO in the world. Rotary clubs around the world have been working on a multitude of areas including AIDS and blindness prevention, maternal and child health issues, hunger projects, environmental up gradation, Eradication of Polio from the face of the earth is the main agenda of the Rotary clubs.
All the Rotarian's are looking to change the world. The Rotarian's believe that our world can be happier, healthier, and more peaceful and that can create better world through service . The family and the home are at the core of all work, all service. Mohandas K. Gandhi said" You must be change you wish to see in the world".Kalyan Banerjee is the president of Rotary Internationa. He was born in 1992 in Kolkata. He is Director of United phosphorus Limited. He has been a member of Rotary club of Vapi since 1972.
