New Bishop of CSI South Kerala Diocese
Rev A Dharmaraj Rasalam (55) was today proclaimed as the new Bishop of Church of South India (CSI) South Kerala Diocese.His name was proclaimed by CSI Synod Moderator Most Rev Vasanth Kumar in Chennai. Dharmaraj was the Vice-Chairman of the CSI South Kerala Diocese. Rev Rasalam was ordained as Bishop at the Mateer Memorial Church, LMS, here. He hails from Vizhinjam. After his schooling in Vizhinjam and Venganoor, Rasalam graduated in History from the Kerala University. He also did his graduation and post-graduation in Theological Studies at the Senate of Serampore College. Rev Rasalam is married to Shirly John, a teacher. The couple has a daughter Sherin S Rasalam, who is doing her MBBS and a son Shinoy S Rasalam, who is in Class X. Rev Rasalam succeeds Rev J W Gladstone, who stepped down recently.
