18 dead in China landslide

Rescuers pulled out 20 people, 17 of whom were dead. One died after treatment failed, and two of the injured were being treated in hospital. Rescuers have cleared the provincial highway and traffic is expected to resume later Wednesday, officials said. More heavy rains are expected to hit Shaanxi, the weather forecast said. Flood control authorities are on high alert and are evacuating people living in low-lying areas.
