THOUSANDS PAY TRIBUTE
: Thousands of people offered 'bali' for their forefathers on the occasion of `Karkidaka vavu' on Saturday,30TH July,2011.. The Bali Tharpanam procedures, which began from 3 in the morning, would continue till noon.A heavy rush of devotees was witnessed at all the temples, which are famous for Bali Tharpanam. Thousands thronged to the temples in Thiruvallam, Varkala, Siva temple in Aluva and Thirunelli temple in Kannur. Special arrangements were made for the devotees to offer bali at the temples. Special poojas would be performed in these temples on the auspicious day. Prof. John Kurakar
