Paravur Sreedharan Thanthri

Well known astrologer and founder of Sree Narayana Tantric Research Vidayalaya, Paravoor Sreedharan Thanthri, passed away Thursday,21^st July,2011, noon at a private hospital in Kochi. He was 90. Thanthri was a noted personality and came to limelight with his statement that non-Brahmins too have right to perform poojas and began to teach the same. He was an active presence in many astrology seminars and temple committee. He was the main priest in many temples. He was born on October 25,1925 as the son of Maman Vaidyar and Parvathiyamma from Kedamangalam Kalavampara veedu. After gaining high school education from Paravur HS, he mastered astrology through Gurukul custom.

His Sathabhishekam function was celebrated in a grand way in October 2009. He wrote books on Devayajana project, Pithrukarma Vidhi and Gurushishyasamvadam. He also worked in Aluva Thanthra Vidyapeetom. He bagged Amrithakeerthi Puraskaram. His wife is late Amrithvalli and Jyothis, Gireesh and Rakesh are his children.
