ARJUNA AWARD FOR PREEJA SREEDHARAN


Arjuna award for
Preeja Sreedharan

   Golden girl Preeja Sreedharan who bagged a gold and silver medal in the Guangzhou Asian Games has been selected for the prestigious Arjuna award for athletics Preeja who was elected Manorama News Maker in 2010 had won the gold in the 10000 meter event and a Silver in 5000 metres at the Guangzhou Asian Games. The athlete also holds Indian National Record for both 5000 and 10,000 metres. Preeja had clocked a personal best of 31:50:28 minutes in Guangzhou Asian Games.Instituted in 1961 by the government of India to recognize outstanding achievement in National sports the Arjuna Awards carries a cash prize of  500,000, a bronze statuette of Arjuna and a scroll.
