SWAMI NIGAMANAND'S NON-POLITICAL FIGHT UNSUCCESSFUL

SWAMI NIGAMANAAND'S NON-POLITICAL FIGHT        UNSUCCESSFUL

the death of Swami Nigamanand who was ona hunger strike for 144 days seeking a ban on quarrying in and around the Ganga in the Kumbha area is unfortunate. Swamis fast went unnoticed by the media, which paid huge attention to Anna Hazare.  No one seems to be worried about the cause for which he died. Swami's death proved that a non-political party. Religion leaders should not resort to measure that can lead to their death. No one has a right to take a life.
Swami's fast invited the governments attention to the blatant exploitation of the Ganges. It is a shame that no one could assure the ardent nature lover in 144 days of measures to check illegal mining.
