PUNE-DEHU ROAD SREE AYYPPA TEMPLE

                             PUNE-DEHU ROAD AYYPPA TEMPLE

The Ayyappa Temple at Dehu Road at Pune is under the control and guidance of  Sree Ayyppa Seva Sangham. The sangham is engaged in several spiritual, social, cultural and educational activities. A temple is a link between the man and God,between the earthly life and the divine life, between the actual  and the ideal. The Temples of north India are generally built on the basis of Kaula Sastra and the temples of south India, especially of Kerala, are generally built on the basis of Tantra Sastra. The customs and rituals followed in these temples are, therefore, differents. This note mainly deals with the temples built on the basis of Tantra Sastra, as Sree Ayyppa temple at Deehu road is being re-modeled on the basis of Taanta Sastra.
As per Tachu Sastra, the whole temple complex is conceived as the body of deity, when considered horizontally. The sanctum sanctrum ( sri kovil/Gasrbha Graha) represents the 'head' of the deity, circumambulatory path( Antharalam) out side the sanctum sanctorum is the face' the open hall (Mandapam) in front, where the holy verses are recited is the' neck' The wall surrounding these inner structure(Nalambalam) is considered to be the'hands' of the outer walls of the whole temple complex (Chuttumathil) are the legs' and the temple edifice (Gopuram) is the'feet' of the deity.

The temple is not a mere place of worship, but is a reservoir of energy. A devotee does not see a piece of rock, since then, but indeed in a living form.
The science of temple technology has its origin in Agama Sastra. It mainly involves Astrology, tantra Sastra, Mantra Sastra, Yantra Sastra and Vastu Sastra. All these are purely scientific and there is no question of blind belief.
The developing works of the Pune Sree Ayyppa temple started in April,1993. Pune Dehu Road Ayyppa temple has made not only in the regular management but also in rendering financial help to the needy and economically weaker section. Dehu Road Ayyppa temple is quite  unique. The temple gave a divine assurancee of safety, security and God's approval of every man.

" A drop of water cannot be a river. It is the joining together of countless drops that creates the flow. The real flow of life lies in unity. In the oneness that arises out of love"----Matha Amruthanda
