IT building at Technopark gets
Green certificate
A 10 lakh sq feet building in Kerala's IT hub Technopark, under construction as part of its Phase III expansion, received green building certificate instituted by the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC). The upcoming building would be equipped with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), heat recovery wheels and water cooled centrifugal chillers for energy-efficient heating, ventilation and cooling which have a positive impact on the indoor air quality.
"The building has been pre-certified by IGBC after a two- tier review system considering various factors inherent in the project design and implementation. It is expected to become operational by the end of 2011," Technopark CEO Mervin Alexander said."This is the largest landmark IT building of Technopark and of Kerala," he said. "The facility will not only sustain good health but also enhance the productivity of its occupants," the official said. The design of the structure was conceived by Mumbai-based architect Hafeez Contractor in association with the consortiumpartner Iyer and Mahesh here.
