The Feast of St. George at St George Orthodox Church, Ayppalloor, was on 7th May a three-day event full of splendor and majesty. The festivities begin five days prior to the festival with erecting the flag masts brought in ceremonial processions from   Ayppalloor Kurisadi Junction to the church on 1st May,2011. The following days are marked by special prayers including Holy Mass in the morning and Sandhayanamskaram or evening prayers. On the main day of the feast, the Holy Mass led by Parish vicar Rev. Fr Y.S Geevarghese . Houndreds of devotees participated the falg hoisting function. Vechoottu was the specialty of this year. 
Holy procession
The grand festival procession was held on 8th May, 2011 at 7.30 am. Thousands of devotees take part in the procession. Holy crosses, colourful ceremonial umbrellas and orchestral accompaniment make the procession an extravaganza of sight and sound. Devotees living on both sides of the procession path accord receptions with lighted lamps. The Raza will be followed by the ‘nercha vilampu’ .Second day festival ends with an impressive fireworks display. The Perunnal ends with holy Kurbana, Raza and the “nerch vilambu on 9th May, 2011
