UN PLANE CRASH

UN PLANE CRASH

At least 26 people were killed Monday, 4th, April, 2011, as a UN plane crashed in Kinshasa, the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DR Congo), Xinhua said, citing the UN mission in the central African country. UN 834 of the UN mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo (MONUSCO) crashed at 2 p.m. local time at the international airport at Ndjili, an immigration officer said.

The crash occurred when the plane was landing after a flight from the eastern town of Goma. It broke in two and caught fire, the UN sources said.   Earlier in the day, MONUSCO said at least 10 people were killed and 16 others wounded in the accident.
