                                                   TWO STUDENTS DROWN IN THE GANGA

    Tragedy struck a spiritual summer vacation trip organised by the School of Bhagawad Gita when two boys, Kinjunni,14 and Hrishikesh,15, who were part of a 79-member group, drowned in the Ganga on Sunday 3rd April,2011.
   the group of children,parents and ashram volunteers, led by Swami Sandeepananda Giri, left Thiruvananthapuram on Friday evening as part of the Balagramam Himalayam Summer trip." As soon as we reached Haridwar , we went to bathe in the Ganga. The spot we selected was very shallow and did not have strong currents. The children were splashing water on each other playing about 20 minutes when all of a sudden about six of them fell in to the water, while we managed to pull out four children, Kunjunni and Hrishikesh could not be saved" Sandeepananda Giri told.
 Kunjunni was a class 9 student at Model Government Higher Secondary School,Thiruvananthapuram. Hrishikesu,15 was a resident of Balussery,Kozhikodu. The boys parents left for Haridwar on Monday,5th April,2011. The bodies are expected to be flown to kerala on Tuesday 6th April. The vacation trip had been cancelled and the group would leave Haridwar on Tuesday itself. Originally, the plan was to travel to Rishikesh and back. The camp was to have ended on April 13.

Rishi was my cousin's son. This is a big loss for our family. His mother has not recovered from the shock yet
I advice all parents not to send their children for such kind of trips.
