N.C.C AWARDS
Members of the National Cadet Corps Kollam Group were given away scholarships and awards instituted by the NCC by Group commander B.S Gokula at a function at the group quarters in Kollam on Saturday 2nd March, 2011.
Twelve cadets of the group won the annual Sahara Scholarship. Under this scheme, three cadets got a scholarship of Rs 3,0000 each, another three cadets got Rs 12,000 each and six cadet got Rs 6,000 each. This scholarship is given to cadets for their academic performance. Three cadets of the group were awarded with Cadet Welfare society (CWS) scholarship of Rs 3000 each in recognition of their contribution to NCC activities which include social service, four cadets from the group bagged the best cadet award of the CWS and another four, the second best cadet award. The cash prize is Rs 3,500 and Rs 2,500 respectively
