Kadammanitta Smritimandapam was constructed by the family members of Kadamanitta Ramakrishnan, at a cost Rs 10 lakh, as a memorial to the late poet. Jnanapith laureate ONV Kurup inaugurated the newly constructed Smiriti Mandapam at Kadamanitta on Thursday 31st March, 2011 Filmmaker Adoor Gopalakrishnan presided over the inaugural function. Prof. ONV Kurup delivered a commemoration speech and Rajan Gurukkal, vice chancellor of the Mahatma Gandhi University, delivered the keynote address. A poet’s congregation was held at Kadammanitta Smritimandapam. Poet Ezhacherry Ramachandran inaugurated the meet. D. Vinayachandran, Amrutha, Vinod Vaishakhi, Girish Puliyur,Vazhamuttom Mohan,Konniyoor Radhakrishnan and Kanimol were among those who presented their poems on the occasion. President of Kadammanitta Ramakrishnan Foundation said the foundation would set up a library, museum and a conference hall attached to the smriti mandapam Prof. John Kurakar
