Media Award
Kerala state government declared their media award for 2010. P.P James of Kerala Kaumudi has won the state governments media aard for 2010 in the general reporting category for his story on irregularities in recruitment in the Indian Railways. The award announced on Sunday 27th February,2011. Aneesh Jacob, K.G Muralidharan, V.U Mathewkutty and Ratheesh Ravi of Mathrubhumi would share the award in development journalism for a series of article they had written on the state of the higher education sector in the state.
Sameer A. Hameed of Malaya Manorama won the award in news photography for a picture of a mahout precariously caught between the tusks of an angry elephant,published by the news paper. The award in cartoon section went to K.R Gopikrishnan of Mathrubhumi
