HOUSE SPARROWS

                                                            House Sparrows

Bird lovers in particular and environment activists in general have given the  call to  observe March 20 as the world House sparrow Day. the House sparrow in its fight for survival. Once we found house sparrows  every where around human habitations, the bird today raises conservation worries.  The house sparrow is fast disappearing especially from urban areas. the reason for its disappearance was the electromagnetic radiations emitted by mobile phone towers fail to hatch ever after 30 days. Though the incubation period is 10 to 14 days. The alarmingly dwindling population of house sparrows  prompted.Britain's Royal Society for the protection of Birds to enlist of Endangered Avian species
The environmental activist Sainudeen Pattazhi said that the house sparrow was associated with human habitation and was very sensitive to change in the environment, it was one of the most preferred indicator species of the urban ecosystem. A stable house sparrow population indicates a healthy ecosystem for human beings in terms of water, air, vegetation and other parameters of habitat quality. A declining population of the bird provides a warning that the urban ecosystem is experiencing changes unsuitable for humans.
