CANADIAN PLAYER JOHN DAVISION ANNOUNCED HIS RETIREMENT

Veteran Canadian Player John Davison, announced his retirement on Tuesday, 15th March,2011. The 40  year-old will bow out with the last match of Canada's World Cup campaign, against Australia at the Chinnaswami Stadium, Bangalore on Wednesday.
" I suppose it's pretty fitting that it's against Australia. Davison said" I've lived all my life quite good enough to get a game for them but it would be a great experience to play against them.
Davison sprang in to public consciousness with his searing 67-ball century against the west Indies at centurion eight years ago, then the fastest in world cups. The record, though, was subsequently bettered by Mathew Hayden in 2007 and Ireland's kevin O Brien earlier this month.
    Canada skipper
Ashish Bagi paid fulsome tribute to the spin-bowling all- rounder. He has been a fantastic ambassador of the game in our country.
He's given Canada a name in the world of cricket. He's brought professionalism, good work ethic and self-belief in to the side. Davison has played 31ODIs for Canada.
