TRIBUTE PAID TO SEYTHAN JOSEPH
          Aleppy theotors owner Seyethan Joseph passed away onMonday 14th February,2011. He was 85.He was ruled Malayalam theatre for over five decades.
               Joseph  ,who inherited,the pseudonym  seythan'from his father Anthrayose'  who had acquired the name after donning the role of satan in one his plays, was at the helm of the Alleppy Theaters troupe  after starting it in 1960 and was known for his Bible based and social drama.Joseph,who was a municipal councilor as well,made his debut with the drama' Anchu Cent Bhoomi in 1952.
      Having been initiated in to theater by his father,joseph was known initially through plays that he directed and acted in,including'Kadalinte Makkal', Jelolsavam and Mahanaya Alexander' to name a few, while around 30 Bible drama like'Moses,Snapaka Yohannan, Muppathu Vellikashu and Vishudha Paulose established him onthe stage.
   in between,Joseph landed a few small roles in Malayalam movies like Kaxalamma,Bharya,Postmana Kaaannilla,as well ,but drama remained his passion and his plays,like the controversial' Ancham thirumurivu'that was staged over 200 times,and about 30 others that conveyed strong social messages remained popular.His funeral was held on 15th February at the Vellappally St. Francis church Alappuzha. He is survived by his daughters Sr Jowitta,Mettilda George, Grace Issac, Sr Vimal Jose,Jessy Shibu and Lali Sajith.

   Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy,Kottarkara unit  conducted a condolence meeting at Kurakar Town Centre on 15th February at 5 p.m.Prof.John Kurakar, Mr SamKurakar, Mr.Bobby Kurakar,,Mr Biju .L, Dr Mohan Kumar,Mr Simson John, Mr Santhosh Jacob were spoke on the condolence meeting.
