Kerala Lalithkala Akademi on Tuesday 1st February,2011 announced the State Awards for 2011. Five awards were given to paintings and sculptures and one each for photography and cartoon.
Mr VChandranandan (TVM) has been selected for the award for his painting " The Trap" Mr Konniyur Kalabhakesari ( Pathanamthitta) won the award for his oil painting " Shadow and Life" Onyx Paulose( KOthamangalam) won the award for the sculpture, Ponmani Thoms won the award for her oil painting" Roots of Bodha", Saju Ayyambilly (Ernakulam) bagged the award for his dry pasted painting named "Disposable Shade", Faisal Mohammed (Mammiyur) won the award for his photograph titled" Sarpa Dosham", Mr T.K Sujith (Thrissur) was selected for the award for cartoon. The state awards carry a purse of Rs 20,000 and a citation
