Mar Athanaseus College for Advanced studies Thiruvalla (Macfast) has bagged the top three ranks in the master of Business Administration Examination conducted by Mahatama Gandhi University in October,2010.
Alisha Mohammed, Divya Susan Mathew & Anupama S.R, three girls hailing from central Travancore,got the first,second and third ranks respectively, in the MBA examination taken by as many as 1500 students from 21 MBA Colleges in Ernakulam,Kottayam,Idukki,Pathanamthitta and parts of Alappuzha district.
Macfast started the MBA course in 2002. Fr Abraham Mulamoottil is the principal of the college. Fr K. Cyriac, director of the MBA Department, said the true purpose of education was not only imparting knowledge,but also encouraging personal empowerment of every individual with the desire of self development. Fr Mulamoottil said Macfast had also launched an academy-industry interface programme at Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram to facilitate better business exposure and placement for its students.
