TRIBUTE PAID TO PA.SOLOMON

   P.A Solomon, leader of the Communist Party of India and former Rajya Sabha member who Passed away on Thursday 9th December,2010. He was 93 and  is survived by his wife Ammini (who is the sister of the novelist Kakkanaden), three daughters and a son. The funeral held at  Kottarakara Marthoma Church cemetery at 2 pm on Saturday.
    Among those who arrived to pay their last respects included chief minister V.S Achuthanden. Solomon began his political career at the of 14 by organizing coir workers. He was specially deputed by the CPI for supervising the growth of the Party in the eastern sectors of the district .
      Author of several books he had actively taken part in the Punnapara- Vayalar uprising and served a jail sentence for  it from 1958 to 1964 he was member of the Rajya Sabha.
