GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS-2010

GANDHI JAYANTI CELEBRATIONS-2010
Prof. John Kurakar has said that the path of peace shown by Gandhiji is the best remedy for solving contemporary problems. Mr Kurakar inaugurated the Gandhi Week clebrations at a function held at the Kurakar Center on Saturday 2nd October,2010 to observe Gandhi Jayanti. He remined the gathering that through a simple and peace ful way of life Gandhiji had taught the world that his life was his message. He called upon the people to pratice Gandhiji’s way of life.
This 2010 October 2nd  marked the 141st  anniversary of the birth of one of the world’s greatest and illustrius son of this soil Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, who is reverently called the Mahatma and rightly acknowledged as the Father of the Nation.
Gandhiji had a three dimensional message to the individual, to the nation and to the world. He taught us that each individual must conquer all evil tendencies and strive to seek truth through love and non-violence and live a truthful life. Only a life of love, service, sacrifice and constructive work will be worth living.
Realising that India is a multireligious, multiracial and multilingual country, his message to it was to weld India it in to one nation based on equal respect for all religious, secularism and democracy as the basis of achieving unity providing for equal opportunites for all for the full development of their talents  and faculties putting an end to exploitation  man by man.
The Mahatma will be remembered in all world for the outstanding contribution he made for world peace. He expounded and propagated the doctrine of non-violence. He demonstrated that the human spirit is more potent than the mightiest of armaments. He applied moral values to political action and pointed out that ends and means are inseparable, for means ultimately governs the end.
Our tribute to Gandhiji should be a pledge tirelentlessly pursue his ideals embodied in the four potent and meaningful words of satya(truth)Ahimsa(non-violence)Satyagraph(truth force) and sarvodya(universal prosperity).
