NOBEL PRIZE IN ECONOMICS
Peter Diamond and Dale Mortensen of the united states and British economist Christopher pissarides won the 2010 Nobel Economics prize on Monday 11th October,2010.
The prize highlights one aspect of a policy making problem, high unemployment which has risen even higher because of the global economic crisis. Mr Peter Diamond (70) is associated with the Massachusetts institute of technology. Mr Dale Mortensen(71) with north western university and Mr Christopher Pissarides(62) is at the London School of economics. Nobel honours work on explaining the demand supply gap in the labour market and elsewhere.
