PARNASALA DEDICATION

            The Santhigiri Ashram at Pothencodu near Thiruvananthapuram is geared up for the dedication of the Parnasala, a 91 foot lotus shaped structure in pristine white marble on Friday(13th August,2010) president,Pratibha Devisingh Patil is scheduled to dedicate the parnasala, which is the final resting place of Navajyothisree Karunakara Guru, the founder of the Ashram.
            The president will also formally inaugurate the month long celebration to be held at the Ashram in connection with the parnasala dedication. Several cultural programmes have also been planned as part of the Santhigiri Fest, including a dance programme by Surya Krishna murthy. An international conference on Global warming, climate change, sustainable development and secular spirituality is also being organised under the joint auspices of UNESCO, TERI and Santhigiri Research Foundation in the first week of September.
            An Education Fest is also planned with a view to finding, promoting and nurturing a spirit of research among school and college students.
            Other major attractions include Santhigiri Expo-2010 and Santhigiri Fest, a cultural programme, which will showcase international talent from various art forms.
            A model eco- friendly village with mud houses and windmills has been recreated at the Ashram.
