UNION GOVERNMENT SHOULD ASSESS THE SITUATION OF SRI LANKAN TAMILS

Tamil Nadu Chief minister Mr. M Karunanidhi has suggested that the union government to assess the situation of Sri Lankan Tamils in the affected areas of Sri Lanka, and the progress of rehabilitation measures under taken by the Sri Lankan government for internally displaced Tamils. The union government sanction of Rs 500 crore for the rehabilitation. Mr Karunanidhi expressed sadness that the measures had not progressed at the expected level. The displaced people continue to under go the ordeal camp life.
