AMERICA REFUSED TO
MEDIATE ON KASHMIR
U.S Secretary of the state Hillary Clinton on Monday 19th July, 2010, described her country’s present engagements with Islamabad as an enduring commitment that would out live the war on terror. Ms Clinton refused to mediate on Kashmir. Ms Clinton made it clear that the U.S was not interested in mediating on Kashmir issue, and India and Pakistan would have resolved the issue through talks.
India- Pakistan relation has been a lot of turbulence in recent times. India talks of punishing those behind the Mumbai terror attacks and Pakistan complains about violation of the Indus water Treaty. India brings up cross border infiltration. Pakistan plays out the Baloch card and so on.
India insists on action against terrorists and the elimination of terror groups operating from Pakistan. Pakistan’s main concern is Kashmir. The endless rounds of India Pakistan talks in good but result is zero.
