TRIBUTE TO ADOOR PANKAJAM
The veteran actor Adoor Pankajam passed away at her residence in Adoor on Saturday 26th,2010.
Pankajam, along with her elder sister, Adoor Bhavani who died on October 2009, had given life to several chactors on Malayalam silver screen as supporting actor.
She was honoured by Kerala Sangetha Nataka Akademy in 2008. She is survived by son Ajayan, who is cinema and television serial artiste.
Adoor Pankajam had to her credit as many as 412 movies. She began her acting career as a theatre artiste
The body was shifted toAdoor Town Hall by 12 noon on Sunday 27th June. Hundreads of people paid homage to the departed soul.The funeral procession was taken out from the town Hall toaround 1.30 pm. Ajayan performed the last rituals and lit the funeral pyre .Her first cinema was Veshappinte vili” Last cinema was the”Kunju Koonan”. She born in 1935. Father: Pannivizha- Parapurathu Kunjiraman Pillai- Mother Kunuoonjamma.
Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy expressed their grief. Prof .John Kurakar, president, KKKS presided over the condolence meeting.The President said that” Pankajam would remain a bright star in Malayalam cinema.
