The investgation team needs to be commended for its untiring efforts at piecing together the evidence and preparing the charge-sheet. The government should act on it immediately rather than projecting Ajmal Amir Kasab before the international community because the terror plot was hatched by the masterminds sitting on the other side of the border and proxies were deputed to execute the act. A special word of praise for the media and the public prosecutor for understanding the sensitivities of the case. The judgement brings victory to the sacrifice of the brave men who contributed to saving lives with valour in mumbai's hours of sorrow.
Seventeen months after Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab march through Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus train station, delivering death to be there on that night of unprecedented terror, justice has been delivered to his victims.Judge M.L Tahilayani deserves credit for completing proceedings in complex and high profile case in this short time. Prosecution had produced an erormous mass of evidence ranging from intercepted communications to DNA samples and eyewitness accounts. 1015 objects and 1691 documents are reported to have been filed in support of their case.
Judge Tahilyani also derves credit for the courage. He has shown in acquitting two men who were charged with crimes they had not committed. Long before news of Pakistani- American Jihadist David Headley's role in helping plan the outrage emerged and the evidence against Fahim Arshad Ansari and sbahuddin Ahmad.
The Mumbai terror attack was a dark chapter in the history of man kind. The landkark death sentence in the case is sure to be welcommed by all. The court has sent out a clear message that terrorism has no place in a civilised community. The death sentence should be an eye opner to the Inter- service Intelligence agency and other terrorists organisations of pakistan and a pointer that India will not tolerate terrorism om its soil.
Mohammad Ajmal Amir Kasab shall be hanged by neck till he is dead” pronouncing these words” the special sessions court on Thursday 6th May 2010 sentenced to death the lone surving gunman of the November 26, 2008 mumbai terror attacks. Kasab was given death penality on five counts. Murder abetment to murder, waging war criminal acts.
