CONGRATULATIONS TO SACHIN TENDULKAR
CONGRATULATIONS TO
SACHIN TENDULKAR
Congratulations to Sachin Tendulkar on completing 20 year in international cricket. He is the inspiration of hundreds of budding cricketers. He is the ultimate role model. He completed 20 years in international cricket on Sunday 15th November,2009. The 36- year old batting legend will be the first Indian cricketer to archive the feat. Tendulkar made his debut as an immensely talented 16 year old against Pakistan in Karachi on November 15, 1989.
Tendulkar has most runs in Tests (12,773 runs in 159 matches at 54.58) and ODIs (17,178 runs in 436 matches at 44.50). His 42 Test hundreds and 45ODI centuries are more than anybody else in the game.
Sachin Tendulkar has made India proud again- His statement that Mumbai is for all Indians. The sivasena chief Sri Bal Thackeray's criticism of Sachin for his remark is unfortunate. Sachin only said he was extremely proud of being a Maharashtrian but he was an Indian first, and that Mumbai belongs to all Indians. What is wrong in what he said? Chennai belongs to all Indians and also Kochi belongs to all Indians.
Mr Thackeray's remark against Sachin is unfortunate. We needed the unity and integrity of the country. Sachin is loved by millions of people in not only in our country but through out the world. In the last 20 years, Sachin has done much more for our nation than any other politicians. Sachin will be a role model for generations to come, long after he retires from active cricket.
Sachin is a global figure while Mr Thackeray is known only to a few people in Maharashtra and outside.Mr Thakeray should think of the Maharashrians living out side the state before claiming that Mumbai belongs to Maharashtra first. This is not the time to create communal or regional tensions. Mumbai was attacked last year- It was the Indian army that rescued the city from the clutches of deadly terrorists. Where were the Communal people?
