III PHASE OF LOK SABHA ELECTION
Nine states and two union territories were set on Wednesday 29 th April 2009 for voting in 107 constituencies in the third phase of Lok sabha election 2009. In Sikkim, voters will elect their MLA too, the election for 32 member state Assembly including ine reserved for the’ sangha’ is being held along with the election for the Lok sabha seat.
There are 1,567 contesants including 101 women inthis round. Prominent among them are congress president Sonia Gandhi from Rae Bareli BJP’s prime ministerial candidate L.K Advani ( Gandhi Nagar)
Around 14.4 crore voters can vote at 1,65112 polling stations. 15193 polling stations have been identified as being in naxalite affected.
