The Government co-ordinating with Global agencies to save energy. As part of this on going exercise the energy management Centre (EMC) recently held a capacity building workshops in co- ordination with the Alliance to save Energy, a non-profit organization in the U.S promoting energy efficiency. The aim was to educate the officials on the mechanisms that could be associated with energy saving projects. The project in Tamil nadu is targeted at improving the municipal water distribution and waste water management. The Kerala government has been trying to make use of the energy sector as a catalyst in promoting a development process in a sustainable manner. EMC has launched programmes to install new energy technology systems in the conventional and non- conventional sectors apart from working on energy conservation education
