ABOUT THE SILENT VALLEY
The Silent valley National Park is a unique preserve of natural Rain forests with a core area of 89.52 sq km & a buffer zone of 148 sq. km. Silent Valley houses a rich mosaic of varied habitats, that support an amazing variety of life forms, some are endemic to the Western Ghata. About 75-80% of the Land is covered with thick woody vegetation and about 20 % of the area is covered by grasslands. silent Valley falls within the Revenue District of Palakkad and Malappuram within the latitude 1103'N and11013 N and lonngtide 76024,E and 760 32,E Elevation ranges from 900 m to 2300 m( Highest peak Anguinda-2383 m)
