TRIBUTE PAID TO Fr. MUZHOOR, WRITER AND JOURNALIST

Z M Muzhoor, noted writer, journalist and teacher, died on 3rd
November,2012, church sources said. He was 66. He had been keeping
indifferent health for some time and died in a private hospital here. He
was a former editor of the weekly and week-end edition of Malayalam publication
"Deepika." An acclaimed Biblical scholar, he had written scores
of books and articles on a vareity of topics ranging from Greek mythology to
aesthetics. He had also taught literature in colleges. Fr Muzhoor
joined the CMI congregation after completing his high school and was ordained
as a priest in 1976. Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy expressed
profound grief at the death of Fr Muzhoor. "In the passing away of
Muzhoor, Malayalam literature has lost a gifted writer and editor", Chandy
said in a message. The body would be laid to rest on Sunday at 2.30 pm at St Vincent church, Pala.
The body would be kept for public to pay homage at 9.30 am Sunday ,4th November,2012 at Pala. He has penned more than 100 books. He worked as Malayalam teacher at St Josephs college Mannanam and co-ordinator of Mannanam bible translation committee.
