PROF. JOHN KURAKAR- bio data

 Prof.John Kurakar is a URI Global Council Trustee and has been for the last 4 years. He is also State president of Kerala Kavya Kala Sahithy, Literary and Educational organization and the president of Kerala Palliative care initiative, president of the Edan Nagar residents Association, President of  the Kurakaran Valiyaveettil Kudumbayogam, president of the Global Thinkers Forum  etc. He was formerly the General Secretary of the Alumni Association of St.Gregorios College,Kottarakara, Programme coordinator of the National Service Scheme, Adult and Continuing Education Programme, Population Education Prograame of the Kerala University and The Secretary of FANSA. He served more than ten years in Kerala Shastra Sahgithya Prishathu as  state level Education Programme convenor and Editorial Board member of the Sashtra Keralam, Grama sashtram and Sashtragathi.  Mr. Kurakar wrote many books and articles. Upanyasa manjari, Bhashabhushanam, Bhasha sodini, Kerala history, Window of Knowledge, quiz quiz are his important books.     He published more than sixteen thousand (16,000) articles  related Literature, culture, science, Economics,social problemsurrent events posted in “Window of Knowledge”  his own website. He is a rtd Professor at St. Gregorios College, in Kottarakara.

He received  Bharatheeya Pravasi Gurusresta award , award and Certificates from Kerala University, Gandhiya Nava shakthi Sangalam, United Religions Initiative, National Service Scheme, Adult and Continuing Education and Extension Department, for his achievement in social service and interfaith activities..He has been married for many years to Molly Jacob, also a professor at St. Gregorios College. He has a daughter, Dr. Manju Kurakar, who is an Assistant Professor, Medical College, in Pune and a son, Manu Kurakar, , who is an Assistant Manager at Systems, SBI, in Bombay. He also has a 3 year old granddaughter, named Jess Mary Kurian.
