100th Central Travancore Orthodox Christian convention
Discourses on the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible would lead to reformation and refinement of human minds, Catholicos of the East and the Malankara Metropolitan, Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose-II, has said.The Catholicos was inaugurating the evangelical meet held as part of the 100th Central Travancore Orthodox Christian convention at the St Stephen’s Orthodox Cathedral grounds at Pathaamthitta. He said religious conventions should be made venues for transformation of human minds which would ultimately lead the society to goodness. Kuriakose Mar Cleemis Metropolitan presided over the meeting.Archbishop Michael Dahulich of the American Orthodox Church delivered the keynote address.
Fr T.J. Joshua delivered the Gospel message. Thomas Mar Athanaseus, Yakoob Mar Ireneus, Joseph Mar Dioneseus, Joshua Mar Nikodimos, and Abraham Mar Serafim, all Metropolitans of the Malankara Orthodox Church, addressed the function. Youhanon Mar Chrysostomos, Metropolitan of the Niranom diocese, delivered the keynote address at the evening session.He called upon the faithful to see Jesus Christ in others. Fr Joseph Samuel Karukayil Corepiscopa also spoke.Mar Serafim will be chief celebrant of the holy eucharist to be held at the St Stephen’s Cathedral on Wednesday morning.The Metropolitan of the Pathanamthitta diocese, Youhanon Mar Chrysostum, will deliver the benedictory speech at the evening session on Wednesday.
