Emma Wren Gibson,
frozen as an embryo in 1992, was born a few days after Thanksgiving
in 2017, more than 25 years later. It's the longest an embryo is known to have been frozen before
being born as baby. In fact, the embryo that became Emma is only a year younger than
the woman who gave birth .
The embryo was donated by a family in
the US and has become the first child for a woman who would herself have been
only one when the baby was conceived.The donated embryo that would become Emma
Wren Gibson, a healthy baby girl, was thawed in March and transferred to mum
Tina Gibson's uterus.Emma was born in November.Do you realise I'm only 25? This
embryo and I could have been best friends," Mrs Gibson, now 26, of eastern
Tennessee told Baby Emma was conceived in October 1992 - a year and half after
her mum's own birth.The 24-year-old embryo is believed to have been
cryopreserved for longer than any other viable human embryo. "Emma is such
a sweet miracle," Mr Gibson said."I think she looks pretty perfect to
have been frozen all those years ago."Neither parent is biologically
related to their new daughter.
ലാസ്ലോ: ഇരുപത്തിനാലു വര്‍ഷത്തെ തണുപ്പില്‍ നിന്ന് സുന്ദരിയായ ഒരു പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞ്. കാലങ്ങളോളം തണുപ്പിച്ചു വെയ്ക്കുന്ന ഭ്രൂണത്തില് നിന്ന് സന്താനോത്പാദനം എന്ന സംവിധാനത്തില്‍ ലോകത്തിനു തന്നെ അത്ഭുതമായ ഒരു പിറവി. അമേരിക്കന്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ എമ്മ റെന്‍ എന്ന പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞിനെ വിശേഷിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും അത്ഭുതക്കുട്ടി എന്ന്.ദേശീയ ഭ്രൂണ സംഭരണ കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ 1992 മുതല്‍ തണുപ്പിച്ചു വെച്ചിരുന്ന ഭ്രൂണത്തെയാണ് ടെന്നീസിയിലെ 27 കാരിയായ ടീന ഗിബ്‌സണ്‍ എന്ന സ്ത്രീ തന്റെ ഗര്‍ഭപാത്രത്തിലേക്ക് സ്വീകരിച്ചത്. ടീന ജനിച്ചത് 1991ല്‍. അന്നേ അവള് പിറന്നിരുന്നെങ്കില്‍ ഞങ്ങളിപ്പോള്‍ അടുത്ത സുഹൃത്തുക്കളായേനേ എന്നാണ് ടീന പറഞ്ഞത്.
ലോകത്ത് ഇതദ്യമായാണ് 24 വര്ഷം തണുപ്പിച്ചുവച്ച ഭ്രൂണത്തില് നിന്ന് കുഞ്ഞു പിറക്കുന്നത്.ഈ വര്‍ഷമാദ്യമാണ് ഭ്രൂണം ടീനയുടെ ഗര്‍ഭപാത്രത്തില്‍ നിക്ഷേപിച്ചത്. ഗര്‍ഭധാരണം വിജയകരമായിരുന്നു. നവംബര്‍ 25 ന് ടീന പെണ്‍കുഞ്ഞിന് ജന്മവും നല്‍കി.
എമ്മയുടെ അമ്മ ടീന ജനിച്ചത് 1991 ലാണ്. അതിനുശേഷം പതിനെട്ട് മാസം കഴിഞ്ഞ് രൂപം കൊണ്ട ഭ്രൂണത്തില് നിന്നാണ് ടീനയുടെ ഗര്‍ഭപാത്രത്തില്‍ എമ്മ പിറന്നത്. 1992 ല്‍ ഈ ഭ്രൂണം ദേശീയ ഭ്രൂണ സംഭാവന കേന്ദ്രത്തില്‍ പ്രത്യേക രീതിയില്‍ തണുപ്പിച്ചുവയ്ക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.

എമ്മ ഒരു അത്ഭുതമാണ്. ഇത്രയും കാലം തണുത്തുമരവിച്ചിരുന്ന അവള് കൂടുതല്‍ സുന്ദരിയായിരിക്കുന്നുയെന്ന് ടീനയുടെ ഭര്‍ത്താവ് ബെഞ്ചമിന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. കുഞ്ഞുങ്ങള്‍ പിറക്കില്ല എന്നുറപ്പിച്ചപ്പോള്‍ ടീനയും ബെഞ്ചമിനും ദേശീയ ഭ്രൂണ സംഭാവന കേന്ദ്രത്തെ സമീപിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു.
