LANDSLIDES IN BANGLADESH
ബംഗ്ലാദേശില് മണ്ണിടിച്ചില്; 133 മരണം
Heavy overnight rains
triggered a series of landslides Tuesday(13th June,2017) in southeast Bangladesh, killing at
least 133 people and injuring many more, officials said.The
highest total, 98 deaths, were reported in the hilly Rangamati district, where
rescuers found bodies buries under mud, relief and rehabilitation officer
Biswanath Majumder told CNN.
Another 29 died in the port city of Chittagong and six others
died in the neighboring Bandarban district, said Reaz Ahmed, director general
of the Department of Disaster Management.Rescue operations led by Bangladesh
Army troopers were ongoing late Tuesday as many people were still missing,
Ahmed said.

കനത്ത മഴയെ തുടര്ന്നുണ്ടായ മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലില് മൂന്ന് സൈനികരടക്കം 133 പേര് മരിച്ചു. ചിറ്റഗോംഗ് താഴ്വരയില് നിരവധി പേരെ കാണാതായി. പ്രതികൂല കാലാവസ്ഥ കാരണം രക്ഷാപ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള് തടസപ്പെട്ടിരിക്കുകയാണ്. വൈദ്യുതി, വാര്ത്താവിനിമയ ബന്ധങ്ങള് വിച്ഛേദിക്കപ്പെട്ടു. സമീപ വര്ഷങ്ങളിലുണ്ടാകുന്ന ഏറ്റവും കനത്ത മഴയാണ് ഇത്തവണ ബംഗ്ലാദേശില് അനുഭവപ്പെടുന്നത്. തലസ്ഥാനമായ ധാക്കയിലും ചിറ്റഗോംഗിലും ഗതാഗതം തടസപ്പെട്ടു. കഴിഞ്ഞ മാസം മോറ ചുഴലിക്കാറ്റില് എട്ടുപേര് മരിക്കുകയും ആയിരിക്കണക്കിന് വീടുകള് തകരുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. 10 ലക്ഷം പേരെ മാറ്റിപ്പാര്പ്പിക്കയുണ്ടായി.
2007ല് ചിറ്റഗോംഗിലുണ്ടായ മണ്ണിച്ചിലില് 130 പേര് മരണപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നു.
