Emotional story behind viral photo showing a mother monkey holding her unconscious child

കുട്ടിക്കുരങ്ങനെ നെഞ്ചോടു ചേര്‍ത്തു കരയുന്ന അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങ്

Avinash Lodhi captured a shot which speaks a thousand words. Avinash is from Jabalpur Madhya Pradesh and is a professional photographer.He was taking photographs of a tribe of monkeys in Jabalpur when his attention was drawn to a mother monkey.

In conversation with iChowk, Avinash said, "This photo is very close to my heart. I took in Jabalpur in April and in all these years taking photographs, I had never clicked such visuals of emotions in an animal."  baby monkey suddenly fell unconscious and then the mother came face to face. Everything happened too quickly. Avinash said that he took that picture but even after an hour later, he was speechless.

It is not necessary that pain can be conveyed using just words. Even a photo can speak a thousand words.The picture shows the pain of a mother. Her pain is exactly the same as a human's.The baby of the monkey was just unconscious but upon seeing her baby lifeless, the mother monkey's heart went for a toss.Evolutionary biologist Mark Beckoff says that all mammals share the same nervous system, neurochemicals, perceptions and emotions, and they all experience pain together.Bry Putman, researcher at Natural History Museum of Los Angeles says, those who are not mammals, conveying pain through facial expressions for them might become fierce since they cannot facially show their emotions like mammals, but it does not mean that they don't feel the pain.

ദുഃഖമെന്നത് മനുഷ്യരുടെ കാര്യത്തില്‍ മാത്രമല്ല മൃഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കും ഉള്ള ഒരു വികാരമാണ്. അത്തരമൊരു കരളലിയിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഒരു രംഗം അവിനാഷ് ലോധിയെന്ന ഫൊട്ടോഗ്രഫര്‍ പകര്‍ത്തി ജനങ്ങള്‍ക്ക്് മുമ്പില്‍ ഇട്ടുതന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞ് ബോധംകെട്ട് തളര്‍ന്നു വീണപ്പോഴുള്ള അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിന്റെ കരച്ചിലാണ് ഈ ചിത്രത്തിലുള്ളത്. അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിന്റെ ആ വേദന കാണുന്ന ഏവരേയും ഒന്നു കണ്ണുനനയിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാകും.

മധ്യപ്രദേശിലെ ജബല്‍പൂരില്‍ നിന്ന് അവിനാഷ് ലോധി തന്റെ ക്യാമറയ്ക്കുള്ളില്‍ പകര്‍ത്തിയ ചിത്രങ്ങളിലാണ് തളര്‍ന്നു വീണ കുട്ടിക്കുരങ്ങനെ വാരിയെടുത്ത് അലറിക്കരയുന്ന അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിന്റേത്. അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിന്റെ ഈ ചിത്രം അതികം വൈകാതെ തന്നെ സമൂഹമാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ ഏറ്റെടുത്തു. വേദന മാത്രമല്ല ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ദുഖത്തിനു ശേഷമുള്ള അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിന്റെ സന്തോഷവും ജനങ്ങളേറ്റെടുത്തു. ജീവന്‍ നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടെന്നു കരുതി നെഞ്ചോടു ചേര്‍ത്ത കുട്ടിക്കുരങ്ങന്‍ ബോധം വീണ്ടെടുത്ത് പഴയപോലെ ഓടിച്ചാടി നടക്കാന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയതോടെ അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിനു സന്തോഷമായി. അമ്മക്കുരങ്ങിനു മാത്രമല്ല ഈ വാര്‍ത്ത സന്തോഷം പകര്‍ന്നത്. ചിത്രം കണ്ടു വിങ്ങിയ നൂറുകണക്കിന് ആളുകള്‍ക്കു സന്തോഷം പകരുന്നതായിരുന്നു കുട്ടിക്കുരങ്ങന്റെ തിരിച്ചുവരവ്.മൃഗങ്ങള്‍ക്കിടയില്‍ അപൂര്‍വങ്ങളില്‍ അപൂര്‍വമാണ് ഇത്തരം വൈകാരിക പ്രകടനങ്ങള്‍. ഈ ചിത്രം തന്നെ വളരെയധികം സ്വാധീനിച്ചെന്നും തന്റെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ മറക്കാനാവാത്ത അനുഭവമാണിതതെന്നും അവവിനാഷ് ലോധി പറഞ്ഞു.
