IOB BANK ROBBERY AT THIRUVALLA
തിരുവല്ലയില്‍ വന്‍ ബാങ്ക് കവര്‍ച്ച: 29 ലക്ഷം രൂപ കവര്‍ന്നു.
A big
heist was reported from Thiruvalla Indian Overseas Bank on Monday. Rs 27 lakhs
comprising new notes worth Rs 16 lakh and old notes worth Rs 11 lakh were
stolen from the bank. CCTV camera units were taken away
by the burglars in order to destroy evidence. The incident has happened at the
branch near Thiruvalla Thulakassery junction.As it was a sub branch of the IOB,
there is no security in the bank. There are hints that pawned gold and valuable
documents were also stolen.The burglary came to light Monday morning after two
days’ holiday so the exact time of the incident is not known. However, the
police suspect it to have happened on Christmas.Gas cutter was found to have
been used to cut open the window at the back side of the bank.
Considering
the method used to by the robber to break in, the police suspect it to be a
handiwork of professional robbers. T0.he bank officials said the money stolen
included the amount set apart for filling the bank aATM.A posse of policemen
led by Pathanamthitta district police chief is conducting the inquiry. Forensic
experts and dog squads have also reached the spot. Police said CCTV camera
visuals of nearby areas will also be examined.
തിരുവല്ല നഗരത്തിലെ തുകലശേരി ഇന്ത്യന്‍ ഓവര്‍സീസ് ബാങ്ക് ശാഖയില്‍ വന്‍ കവര്‍ച്ച. 16 ലക്ഷത്തിന്റെ പുതിയ നോട്ടുകളും 11 ലക്ഷത്തിന്റെ പഴയ നോട്ടുകളുമടക്കം 27 ലക്ഷം രൂപ കവര്‍ന്നു. ഗ്യാസ് കട്ടര്‍ ഉപയോഗിച്ച് ജനല്‍ കമ്പി മുറിച്ച് അകത്ത് കടന്നാണ് കവര്‍ച്ച നടത്തിയത്. ബാങ്കിന്റെ വിവിധ ശാഖകളിലേക്ക് വിതരണത്തിനായി വച്ച പണവും കവര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടതായാണ് വിവരം. ബാങ്ക് ലോക്കറില്‍ സൂക്ഷിച്ച പണമാണ് കവര്‍ച്ച ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ടത്. ലോക്കര്‍ കുത്തി തുറന്നാണ് മോഷണം. ബാങ്കില്‍ പോലീസും ഫോറന്‍സിക് വിദഗ്ധരും പരിശോധന നടത്തിവരികയാണ്. പ്രദേശത്ത് കനത്ത പോലീസ് കാവല്‍ ഏര്‍പ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
