                                            64TH ARMY DAY(JANUARY-15)

 The Pangodu Miltary Station celebrated the 64th Army Day in tandem with other stations across the country. Wreaths were laid at the war memorial to pay homage to soldiers who scarified their lives in the service of nation. Station Commander Brigadier Pradeep Narayanan,Major General (retired) MNK Nair, Lieutenant Colonel(retired) Ramesh Nair and Colonel(retired) Ramesh Nair and other serving and retired personel attended the solemn ceremony. A light and sound show showcasing the glorious history of the Indian Army was organised in the evening.
   General K.M Cariappa took over as the first Indian Commander in Chief of the Independent Indian Army on January 15, 1948. This day is commemorated as the Army Day every year. 58 Soldiers received awards. Out of these 32 awards were gallantry and 26 for distinguished service.
